NCMS Distinguished Elders honorees are recognized during the Elders Recognition Ceremony at the Summit. This award celebrates those who have made a lifetime commitment and significant contributions to multicultural psychology through their roles as scholars, scientists, teachers, mentors, practitioners, and/or advocates for rights and just causes.

The Elder criteria include:
(a) a living individual who is at least 60 years of age; and
(b) demonstrate significant contributions in the field of multicultural psychology for at least 30 years.
