Tamba-Kuii Bailey selected as the SCP LDI Fellow

Biographical information for the CNPAAEMI Leadership Development Institute:

Tamba-Kuii Bailey is current an assistant professor in the Counseling Psychology and Community Services Department at the University of North Dakota. Tamba-Kuii recently accepted an assistant professor position in the Counseling Psychology Department at the University of San Francisco, where he will start in the fall (2013). Tamba-Kuii received his PhD in Counseling Psychology from Georgia State University. He has Masters and Educational Specialist degrees in Community Counseling from James Madison University. Also, Tamba-Kuii received a Masters degree in African American Studies from Temple University and a Bachelor’s of Arts from Morehouse College.

Tamba-Kuii’s professional experiences include clinical work in community mental health and teaching at the graduate level. His research interests are primarily in the areas of Black psychology and multicultural psychology. In Black psychology, his interests are in the sub-areas of racial oppression, internalized racial oppression, and the impact of race on mental health, mental health diagnoses, and physical health. In the area of multicultural psychology, he is interests are in racial microaggressions, multicultural competencies, and social justice in psychology.
