We are excited to announce the approval of a new Division 17 Child and Adolescent SIG! Co-Chaired by Chris Slaten from the University of Missouri and Megan Foley Nicpon from theUniversity of Iowa, this SIG will focus on research and practice issues pertinent to child and adolescent counseling psychologists. The focus is on issues central to our field: social justice, positive psychology, prevention, diversity, school counseling, and vocational psychology. The SIG is a forum for communication among professional psychologists and students within Division 17 whose research and/or clinical work primarily focuses on child and adolescent issues. We will provide a mechanism of communication (e.g., a SIG listserv), create collaborative research and convention program proposals, and facilitate professional networking and mentoring among constituents.
If you are interested in joining the Child and Adolescent SIG, please contact Megan at [email protected]. We’d love to have you join us!
