James (Jim) Lichtenberg

James Lichtenberg was recognized for service to the American Board of Counseling Psychology (ABCoP) for leadership in the strengthening of our Counseling Psychology specialty through his work with the American Academy of Counseling Psychology (AACoP) and the Society of Counseling Psychology (SCP). He has been instrumental in raising the awareness of the importance of board certification, having served as Chair of Counseling Psychology’s first, and then most recent petition to APA’s CRSPPP. He also led an initiative in which AACoP and SCP each set aside funds to reimburse SCP members who apply for board certification, in which the costs of the application and review process are reimbursed jointly by AACoP and SCP.
