Congratulations to Dorothy Espelage and Ellen Hawley McWhirter!

Dr. Espelage was appointed as the Edward William and Jane Marr Gutsgell Endowed Professor in the School of Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. A fellow of SCP and past Program Chair, Espelage teaches child development and researches bullying, homophobic teasing, dating violence and sexual harassment.

Dr. McWhirter was named the Ann Swindells Professor in Counseling Psychology by the University of Oregon. A fellow of SCP and past-chair of the Society for Vocational Psychology, Dr. McWhirter’s research focuses on the career development of Latina/o adolescents, particularly how sociocultural barriers and critical consciousness influence post-secondary plans.
