Counseling Psychologist Receives Grant From Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
Britney Brinkman, PhD, recently received an Interdisciplinary Research Leaders (IRL) fellowship grant through the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, as a result of her longstanding commitment to social change and health equity within the U.S. This three-year fellowship will including funding for training in best practices to facilitate the formation of evidence-based policies, as well as grant funding for a collaborative research project with Gwen’s Girls, an organization dedicated to the empowerment of girls in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Brinkman is an associate professor of graduate psychology programs at Chatham University. She shares that through this fellowship, she aims to deepen her work regarding participatory action research with youth to evaluate programming to prevent violence and improve health in young women of color. Dr. Brinkman received her PhD in Counseling Psychology and a Graduate Certificate in Women’s Studies from Colorado State University. Congratulations, Dr. Brinkman!
