Community Advocacy: A Psychologist’s Toolkit for State and Local AdvocacyThe Advocacy Toolkit developed as a result of a joint effort between four divisions of APA: Division 17, Society of Counseling Psychology, Division 27, Society for Community Research and Action, Division 35, Society for the Psychology of Women, and Division 45, Society for the Psychological Study of Culture, Ethnicity and Race. The goals were to develop a science-based high-quality advocacy toolkit that highlights different forms of advocacy strategies to inform policy at the local and state levels and to build a community of grassroots psychologist advocates that can intervene to promote wellbeing in the communities in which they reside.
